RUSSIA DAY IN LONDON
Another example of our Image Diplomacy approach in action, Russia Day is held on 19 March at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as part of Russian Business Week. The centrepiece of the Day is the interactive and interdisciplinary Russia Debate that brings together diplomats, academics, policy experts and business people to discuss Russia’s global player ambitions and the ways for the West to address them. Unprecedented in its form and style, the Debate also aims to improve understanding of the Russia-EU relations and help the audience make informed choice on their own stance on the topic. The debate is held during 4 to 6 pm in the Old Theatre of LSE.
Events of the Day also include Russia quiz and information booth in Houghton street, the tasting of Russian food, a show of works by the young Russian designer Antonina Shapovalova, a retrospective of classical soviet cartoons, and a Russia-themed window display at Waterstone’s bookshop on campus. These events are also designed to help the next generation of world elites studying at LSE to get interest in Russia and make up their own opinion on it.
